Generally, non-residents of Macau Special Administrative Region are required to possess valid passports and visas or entry permits to enter Macau.
Types of Macau Visa: Diplomatic, Official and Ordinary visas.
Validity of Macau Visa:
Valid for 1 entry within 3 months, 14 days of stay per entry;
Valid for 2 entries within 3 months, 14 days of stay per entry;
Valid for multiple entries within 6 months, 14 days of stay per entry
Need a Macau Visa or Not?
If you are fall into any of the following categories, you are exempt from the Macau visa; if not, you have to obtain a visa or entry permit before your departure or you can submit a visa-on-arrival (valid for 30 days) when you arrive in Macau
Note: from 1st July 2010, passport holders of Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are required to apply for a Macau visa before arriving at Macau. Visa-upon-arrival is not applicable to visitors from the above six countries.
You are exempt from Macau visa if you are in any of the following categories:
1. Passport holders of the 66 countries and regions that are exempt from Macau visa (See the table below).
2. Visitors holding valid travel documents to another destination enter Macau for a transit to the destination and stay within the Macau International Airport for less than 48 hours ;
3. The 'Hong Kong Identity Card', 'Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card' or 'Hong Kong Re-entry Permit' holders;
4. Nationals of China with valid Macau entry / depart documents;
5. Holders of Consulate / Diplomatic documents issued by the Macau SAR or Hong Kong SAR;
6. Holders of Diplomatic Passport;
7. Holders of travel document issued by the Portuguese authorities for the foreign citizens.
8. Holders of a valid "Non-resident Worker's Permit" or "Special Stay Permit".

Where to Apply (for people who are not exempt from Macau visa)
1. Through the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate General;
2. Apply for a visa-on-arrival from the Immigration Department when arriving in Macau;
3. By post, sending an application form and supporting documents to the Immigration Department.
Requirements
You are required to provide:
1. A completely filled out application form which is available at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General and the Immigration Department of Macau, or can be downloaded from the website of the Macau Public Security Police.
2. A photocopy of the biographical data page of your valid passport or travel document;
3. Documents which can prove your financial status, such as the bank statement, the deposit in savings account and tax payment receipt;
4. Document of transportation and accommodation arrangement in Macau;
5. Other documents according to your visiting purpose:
Study: admission document of the higher institution in Macau;
Employment: proof of employment approved by the Macau authorities;
Staying as the family of non-resident worker in Macau: approval letter;
Visit (individual travel, family visit and residence on dependant basis): document to prove the purpose of visit.
