Market plan
Expo 2010 sponsorship plan has a two-level structure: partner level and senior sponsor level. The organizer has recruited 12 global partners and about 15 senior sponsors. Among the global partners are: the China National Petroleum Corporation, Baosteel, China Mobile, China Eastern Airlines, Siemens, Coca Cola and more. And senior sponsors include Yili Group, Cisco, IBM and more.
Licensed products
Twenty categories of products will be featured: household necessities, apparel, ornaments, stationery, toys, sports articles and more, with prices at 15 to 300 Yuan (US$2.20–$44.10). In addition, there are high-end products of gold and silver coins and souvenirs and stamps. All these products can be bought at the 24 licensed stores in Shanghai, and soon are available in Beijing and other provincial capital cities of China.
Volunteers
Around 170,000 volunteers are needed for the Shanghai World Expo; recruitment has begun in May 2009. Of these, about 70,000 volunteers will provide services at the Expo site, and the others will serve elsewhere in the city. Each volunteer at the Expo site will work for 14 days and then take turns. Their work includes information inquiry, reception and guidance, interpretation, media services and more. For city volunteers, they will work at the volunteer service centre for inquiry, interpretation and emergency aid. The majority of the volunteers will be university students, and they will be recruited on campus at universities in Shanghai.
Shanghai unveiled its World Expo volunteer logo, slogan and song on March 27, the 400-day countdown to the opening of Expo 2010. The volunteer logo includes the Chinese character '心' for heart, the letter 'V' and a dove of peace carrying an olive branch. The character '心' is to reflect the warm-hearted spirit of the volunteers, and the letter V stands for 'volunteer'. The volunteer slogan is 'At Your Service at Expo'. It has three sub-logos: 'My Will, My Help, My Pleasure', '2010, we're Together as One' and 'Our City, Your Joy'. The volunteer song is 'By Your Side'.
