Jingzhou is an ancient city with amazing history along the Yangtze River side. It had been the capital of three kingdoms as an essential military base. This old city owns its unique historical characters. Now, this trip will takes you to follow the history's track.

 
The first day, you will start from the Jingzhou old city. There are five gates of this ancient city around the city wall. The South Gate 2 yuan, the West Gate 4 yuan, the East Gate 15 yuan, the North Gate fare is 7 yuan and there is also a small North gate 5 yuan. If you arrive at the long-distance bus station, it is very convenient for you to find the proper buses heading for the old city of Jingzhou. You can have fun in the city wall. If you like, you can rent a bike for transferring in the city wall, which will be much interesting for you to have a bird view of the ancient city.

 
If it is convenient to you, you are advised to enter the old city through its small North Gate and your next destination Xuan Miaoguan Taoist temple (Yuan Miao Taoist temple). It is located on the western slopes of small gate. Or, you can enter the city through other gates and take the No. 16 or No. 19 bus heading for the Xuan Miaoguan. The Taoist temple was built in Tang Dynasty (618~907). Its entrance fare is 4.00 yuan.

 
After having a visit there, you can go out to take the No. 19 bus proceeding to the Jingzhou Museum. There display thousands of cultural relics ranging from the silk in Warring States (475~221 B.C.) to the royal swords. You will appreciate the precious treasure and their interesting folks and history. Please notice that the Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday each week and its daily duration is 09:00 - 17:00 but the museum is not open for the new visitors after 15:00 every day. It is closed every Monday as the regulation. At present, it is free of charge but you have to queue for getting the entrance ticket. And it allows 2,000 visitors to visit every day. After today's sightseeing, you must be tired and would like to have a rest. Usually, the room rate of 3-star hotel is around 150.00 yuan for the standard twin room. The next day, after breakfast, you can take the No. 14 or No. 15 bus heading for Zhanghua temple, which was constructed in Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 ). The temple was built on the base of the Zhanghuatai Palace, which had been the xanadu of the emperor in Chu Dynasty (540-529 B.C.). Its admission fare is 20.00 yuan. Then, you can take the No. 20 bus carrying on to the Chu Jianan old town. It had been the capital of the Chu Kingdom in the period of Spring and Autumn Warrior States (770-476B.C.).
