Usage of the Searching Tool Above 1. It can be used to search all of the bus and subway routes in Shanghai City, partial of the buses to suburban areas such as Songjiang, Jiading, Qingpu, Nanhui and Chongming such as 919 to Badaling, as well as the airport shuttle buses of the Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport.
2. The bus/subway transport to the major hotels in the city are also collected and added to our data base, such as Subway Line 6 and Bus No.s 3 (Jin Qiao), 609, 790, 987, 990, 995, and Jin Ding Line to Ramada Plaza Hotel Pudong, Shanghai.
3. The intercity long-distance buses, such as buses from Shanghai to Beijing, Xian or Guangzhou, are not included in.
4. Public buses in the city are either named with Arabic numbers or Chinese characters. They can be generally divided into the categories as follows:
Bus No.s 1 - 30 are trolley buses, and most of them have been changed into automobiles or new energy buses;
No.s 30 - 40 were planned to be trolley buses in Pudong District, but were never put in force;
No.s 41 - 200, are regular buses serving in the downtown area, of which 81-86 are bus routes running in Pudong area;
No.s 201 - 300 were originally rush hours bus routes, but most of them have been changed into regular ones;
No.s 301 - 400 are night bus routes in downtown;
No.s 401 - 500 are cross-river bus lines;
No.s 501 - 600 are special bus routes serving by mini-buses;
No.s 601 - 700 are pudong bus routes;
No.s 701 - 800 are regular buses serving in the suburban areas;
No.s 801 - 900 are special bus routes serving between downtown Shanghai and the outskirts;
No.s 901 - 1,000 are special bus routes serving by air-conditioned or double-deck buses;
No.s above 1,000 are short-distance bus routes by mini-buses. Of them, 10XX are Pudong bus routes, 12XX are Puxi bus routes, and bus numbers above 1,400 are suburban bus routes.
5. Unlike the other cities in China, most of the bus stops in Shanghai are set at the intersection of two roads, hence the name. The left are either named by the nearby symbolic buildings, bridge, village, hotels and so on.
6. To increase the translation difference between Chinese and English, the Chinese Pinyin of the bus stops enjoys a priority in our searching system.
