The Guangzhou East Railway Station (广州东站) was built in 1910. It is located in the Tianhe District, 8 km (about 5 miles) from the Guangzhou Railway Station. The Guangzhou East Railway Station is the terminal station of many railways such as Guang (Guangzhou) - Shen (Shenzhen) Railway, Guang (Guangzhou) - Jiu (Jiulong/Kowloon, Hong Kong) Railway, Guang (Guang) -Shan (Shantou) Railway, and Jing (Beijing) - Jiu (Jiulong/Kowloon) Railway. The passenger transport building is the center of the station. The first floor is mainly for the passengers to Shenzhen and Jiulong, and has ticket windows, waiting rooms, and luggage storage rooms. On the second floor, there are ticket offices for long-distance passengers in the west section, and five VIP Rooms in the east. On the third floor are the ticket hall and waiting rooms for passengers to Kowloon and long-distance passengers. The check-in hall for the passengers to Jiulong is in the west section of the fourth floor, while the other part of the fourth floor is the waiting room for domestic passengers.

North Railway Station
Located on the Zhanqian Road in Huadu District, Guangzhou North Railway Station is about 28 km (17 miles) away from Guangzhou Railway Station. It is a small station, serving as an intermediate station on the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway and on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway. In the future, the Guangzhou-Qingyuan intercity railway and Guangzhou subway line 9 will connect the station with northern Guangzhou, northern Foshan, Qingyuan and Baiyun International Airport. At that time, this railway station will be an important transfer station in Guangzhou’s air and railway transport system.
After a renovation that lasted from October to December in 2009, a total of 14 ticket windows have been set up at the North Railway Station. Six in the north are for ordinary trains, and there are eight more in the south for the high-speed and bullet trains of the Wuhan-Guangzhou line. Four automatic ticket-selling machines and special waiting rooms have been prepared for passengers who take the trains on Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway.
Popular Trains Stopping at the North Railway Station: ordinary trains of Shenzhen-Shaoyang, Zhaoqing-Jishou, trains from Guangzhou to Chongqing, Wenzhou and Hanzhong, high-speed trains from Guangzhou to Wuhan, Changsha and Shenzhen as well as bullet trains to Wuhan and Changsha.
